Home Sprinkler Systems Co. is a proud family-owned and operated business with deep roots in the St. Louis and St. Charles areas. For over 30 years, we have dedicated ourselves to providing exceptional residential lawn irrigation and landscape lighting services to our valued customers.
Shannon took over the operations for Howard in 2020 in hopes to continue building the company her dad worked hard to establish in 1989. Starting with just a small number of customers, we have grown to over 700 customers. Howard developed great relationships with all his customers throughout the years and worked hard to meet their irrigation needs. It's because of his attitude that we still service customers that have been here since the very beginning.

We are a faith-based company that puts our strength in the Lord everyday. We commit our time and energy to providing the best possible service in lawn irrigation repair and installation. We strive to have an energetic, educated, and kind attitude towards all of our customers. Our goal is to produce a quality product, maintain a respectable and trusting relationship with our customers, and provide absolute satisfaction so our client relationships last forever.

Howard Miller started Home Sprinkler in 1989 with a vision to be an entrepreneur. He loved working on his personal landscape full of roses and started learning how watering could be a more efficient process. Howard retired in 2020 after his daughter and son-in-law purchased the company.

Shannon Kohn, is Howard's daughter and current president and co-owner. She purchased the company in 2020 with her husband, Stanley. She currently manages all of the daily operations and is the main point of contact for all of the customers. Shannon previously worked at Verizon as a project manager for 17 years. Shannon recently acquired her Master Lawn Irrigation license from St. Louis County Dept. of Public Works.

Stanley Kohn, is our CFO and co-owner bringing over 20 years experience in leading finance teams in large corporations and small family-owned businesses.

Tyler is one of our 3rd year Service Technicians that has experience servicing lawn irrigation systems, backflows, and landscape lighting. He has been all around a huge asset to the company, always taking care of our customers. He is certified in the State of Missouri to test & repair backflow devices and has his journeymen's license in St. Louis County.

Steven is our Senior Technician and Job Foreman starting his 16th year with us. He has extensive knowledge of irrigation systems, plumbing, design & installation. He designs & installs landscape lighting and drainage systems. He is also our resident mechanic. Steven has been a large reason for the growth of this company. He is certified in the State of Missouri to test & repair backflow devices, and has his journeymen's license in St. Louis County.

Sean has been a fantastic addition to our team since joining in July 2025. Hailing from Mississippi with a decade of industry experience, he brings a wealth of expertise in irrigation, lighting, and plumbing. He recently acquired his State of Missouri certification to test and repair backflow devices.

Includes turning on the irrigation water valve, pressurizing the mainline and backflow device, walking through each zone, setting the controller for the season, checking operation of heads, adjusting heads & ensuring they cover the area properly. Testing the backflow device by a certified technician, tagging device & submitting the test to the local water purveyor.

This amount is automatically charged if upon arrival service cannot be performed due to damaged copper piping or backflow, other maintenance service companies are on site and work cannot be performed, or if we are there to service the system for less than one hour. This charge is not added if services are over an hour, then rates above only apply.

IRRIGATION WARRANY
Home Sprinkler Systems Co. warrants MATERIALS installed for a period of THREE YEARS from the date of installation. LABOR to repair or replace the components of the sprinkler system is covered for a period of THREE years from installation. This warranty includes all system components installed by Home Sprinkler Systems, Co. including the controller, valves, sprinkler heads, & pipe. The backflow device is not covered under our warranty in this specific case due to an outside plumber installing the device. The warranty includes only defects in materials or workmanship and expressly excludes improper usage of the system, damage caused by freezing, fire, flooding, any other natural phenomena, or damage by any other cause. The winterization of the system must be performed by Home Sprinkler Systems, Co. for the warranty to stay in effect. Any modification or repair of the system by any company other than Home Sprinkler Systems, Co. voids this warranty. This warranty expressly excludes (1) the cost of testing the backflow device as may be required by water providers after the initial inspection at installation (2) clogging of system components due to debris in the water supply.
LIGHTING WARRANTY
Home Sprinkler Systems Co. warrants MATERIALS installed for a period of THREE YEARS from the date of installation unless otherwise stated under the manufacturer’s warranty. LABOR to repair or replace the components of the landscaping lighting system is covered for a period of THREE years from installation. This warranty includes all system components installed by Home Sprinkler Systems, Co. excluding wire connectors. The warranty includes only defects in materials or workmanship and expressly excludes improper usage of the system, damage caused by freezing, fire, flooding, any other natural phenomena, or damage by any other cause (animals, etc.). There can be no alterations to the landscape lighting system for the other than by Home Sprinkler Systems, Co. for the warranty to stay in effect. Any modification or repair of the system by any other company other than Home Sprinkler Systems, Co. voids this warranty.
Manufacturer’s Warranty
Kichler Lighting LLC (“Kichler Lighting”) warrants its outdoor and landscape lighting products and component parts to the original consumer purchaser or commercial purchaser to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the applicable period specified below. The warranty period begins on the date that the product is received by the original purchaser or their authorized representative (installation contractor, etc.).
· VLO Accent and Flood Lights: Fifteen (15) years.
· Kichler® LED Light Bulbs with a Model Number Between 18120 and 18209
***Six (6) years or 30,000 hours, whichever comes first.
Special Order (non-catalogued) Outdoor and Landscape Lighting Products
**** One (1) year.
BACKFLOW REPAIR POLICY
The policy for backflow repair work is at the customer's request to attempt to install new parts in the backflow to either pass a failing backflow test or to stop dripping or dumping. The repairs are not always 100% guaranteed to fix the problem. In 85% of cases, the replacement parts do work and the other 15% end up having to replace the entire device. Typically customers will move forward with trying replacement parts before going straight to replacement. We do our best to provide expertise after evaluating the backflow and situation. In some cases after looking at repair history or the age of the device, we will go straight to recommending replacement. And other times we do suggest trying new parts first. Our technicians are not able to fully diagnose whether a part will work or not without installing the new part. The labor and part the costs incurred by the customer.
LATE FEE POLICY
An invoice overdue by 30 days will incur a $25 late fee.
